A mere 45% of Gen Z reckon they’ve nailed the work-life balance, according to a poll of 2,000 adults.
The survey suggests this figure is a whopping 15% less than those in their last decade of work.
While 18% are hit with the ‘Sunday scaries’, an even bigger 20% get the jitters come Monday morning.
Gen Z’s workplace woes include fretting over deadlines, having tough chats with the boss, and the eternal struggle of juggling their life outside of work.
But there’s a lucky 5% of those under-25s who don’t sweat the small stuff.
Digital creator and entrepreneur, Caspar Lee, reckons: “Navigating the modern workplace can be challenging, especially at this time of year when burnout is at its peak.”
“It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by deadlines, presentations, or even choosing the right outfit for an important meeting,” he adds.
Nearly half of the Gen Z crowd are all about planning their day properly to help keep on top of things and strike that work-life harmony.
1 in 10 have even roped in AI to sort their schedules, that’s 10% more than the over-55s.
Chipping in, a spokesperson for Google’s AI Assistant, Gemini Live, says: “Many of us experience ‘the fear’ before a big work week, with many finding organisation and planning as the source of their stress.”
“AI assistants are perfectly poised to take on these problems and help quell the anxiety that comes with the modern 9-5.”
When questioned on how an AI tool could alleviate their work-related anxiety, Gen Z preferred tailored relaxation plans, including timetables that featured breathing exercises, meditation, and to-do lists to plan tasks in advance.
