Tulisa Contostavlos’ ex-boyfriend Fazer has broken his silence after the singer announced she is ‘demisexual’ on I’m A Celebrity.
The N-Dubz star, 36, revealed she has been celibate for over three years as she came out as demisexual on the show – meaning she is attracted to people’s personalities, rather than their gender or physical characteristics.
Now Richard Rawson, 37, also know as Fazer in the London-based band and who dated Tulisa for two years from 2010 to 2012, has now weighed in on her revelation.
The rapper said it’s ‘absolutely true’ and said there’s something inside her that hold her back from meeting people.
‘She’s always been like a hermit crab that goes inside its shell, you go too close to it, it goes back inside its shell,’ he told The Sun.
‘Her whole life, any sort of relationship that she’s been in has always been long-term for that person, it’s never been short-term, it’s like she wants to meet people, but there’s something inside her that doesn’t let her meet people.’

Fazer, 37, who was also in the London based band N Dubz and dated Tulisa for two years has opened up about her candid confession saying that it’s ‘absolutely true’
Fazer urged any future potential partners of Tulisa’s to show her that there is an emotional connection.
He added: ‘To any of her future partners: make sure you just take it slow and make sure you’ve got an emotional connection first.’
The pair – who are good friends today – kept their romance a secret for a while before they split in 2012.
It was reported at the time Fazer wanted marriage and kids, while Tulisa wanted to focus on progressing her career after she landed a job as a judge on The X Factor.
MailOnline has contacted Fazer’s representative for comment.
Earlier this week on I’m A Celebrity Tulisa told campmates Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall that she feels ‘like I’m demisexual’ and added: ‘I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.’
The singer admitted the thought of being with someone makes her feel ‘physically sick’ as she discussed her love life with her campmates.
In the peak of her fame, Tulisa endured a very high-profile court case after her ex boyfriend Justin Edwards who she had broken up with in 2009 – released a sex tape of her in 2012.
She previously told how she felt ‘judged, disgusting and ashamed’ because of the ordeal and said it has taken her ‘many years’ to come to terms with and get over.
Tulisa shared with her campmates she has no interest in dating anyone, admitting ‘I’m proper guarded’.
As the talk in camp turned to relationships, Dean McCullough said: ‘I actually do enjoy being single, I enjoy being on my own.’

As Alan admitted he’d ‘never been on dating apps before’, Dean turned to Tulisa and joked: ‘We’ve done them all, haven’t we babes.’
Tulisa said: ‘No I’ve only done Raya [celebrity dating app]. I’m not really a dater, even though I’ve been on there, I’ve never gone on an actual date with anyone on there… I’m proper guarded.’
She added: ‘I feel like I’m demisexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.’
Demisexuality is a sexual orientation where a person only experiences sexual attraction after forming a strong emotional connection with someone.
Dean said: ‘You need meaning babe.’
‘I need actual depth. I’m a slow, slow burner, I’ve been celibate for over three years’, Tulisa revealed.
‘I’m not an overly sexualised person. For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way.’
Explaining the thought of sleeping with someone or going out and meeting someone ‘genuinely makes me feel physically sick’, she joked: ‘This is my temple, you cannot enter.’
Alan quipped: ‘It sounds like a Bushtucker Trial where you’ve gotta find a key to Tulisa’s temple.’

Speaking to Olivia Attwood on her So Wrong It’s Right podcast, Tulisa discussed how much of a toll the leaked sex tape has had on her life.
She said: ‘It felt like virtual rape, that’s the only way I can describe the emotion. It was just horrific. I felt so just judged and I felt disgusting, I felt ashamed.
‘It just felt horrible, there’s no word to describe. It’s taken me many, many years to come to terms with it. Now, for me, all pain is growth.
‘So, every single part of my experiences I was meant to feel and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.
‘So there is no regret on anything, that is my path. I was meant to live it and I have.’
She added: ‘It’s affected my relationships to this day and intimacy and all those kinds of things – it’s life changing in a big, big way.’
Revenge porn was not illegal at the time, meaning she only managed to get a court apology from him.
Justin released it between her first and second series as a panel judge on the X Factor.
