Cadbury ditches Christmas chocolate favorite and persons are beside themselves

Chocolate fans are complaining of a nightmare before Christmas, as an iconic Cadbury’s item has been discontinued. The popular Dairy Milk Winter Orange Crisp Chocolate Bar will no longer be available for purchase this festive season – or ever again.

The purple-wrapped treat was a favourite for Christmas and was usually released around September. Weighing in at 360g, the bar featured the well loved Dairy Milk chocolate with orange-flavoured crispy bites. It is the sister product to Cadbury’s Winter Mint Crisp, but while that survived, the company pulled the orange.

This week the manufacturer announced it would be officially removed, in favour of other new flavours to come. It’s safe to say fans weren’t happy with the shock decision.

Cadbury’s shared the news on X. One eagle-eyed fan noticed they hadn’t seen it in their local supermarkets. They wrote: “@CadburyUK will you be bringing back the orange festive crisp bar this year? Pleeeeeeasse.”

The company responded: “Hi there, we’re always adapting our Christmas range to ensure there’s something new for everyone. This year, we’ve made a few updates we think you will love. While this was not the expected news, they gave fans some hope: “We understand some will miss the Dairy Milk Orange Crisp Bar. Who knows, we might see them again next year. We hope this helps.”

In response, the fan said: “Fingers crossed it’s back next year! Me and my friends miss it!”

A spokesperson from Mondelēz International told the Sun : “At Cadbury we’re proud of our long-standing heritage in delivering treats that our fans have enjoyed for over 200 years and we’re always adapting our Christmas range to make sure that it is reflecting changing consumer tastebuds, and there is a range of options available to enjoy.

“In line with this, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Orange Crisp Bar is no longer available, but we have plenty of other delicious options for consumers to choose from in our 2024 festive line-up, including some exciting new treats as well as our beloved Christmas classics and returning favourites like the Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Crisp Bar.”

It seems it’s a tough year for oranges, as Cadburys also discontinued Dairy Milk orange a few months ago.
