A passenger had a shock this week when part of a plane window came off and fell to their feet during a particularly scary flight landing. Sharing details to Reddit, the frightening incident soon got people talking and shairng similar experiences and snide remarks.

Reddit user DrMarcA wrote on Thursday (November 21): “Whelp, it’s not often that things other than wi-fi break on my flights, but this is a first. Fell off when we landed.” He later added of the flight incident: “I handed it to them when de-planing and just told em, “hey, this fell off the emergency exit door” and she said, ‘oooof course it did sigh’.”

Posting a photo of said window frame, a visible gap and broken seal on the window can be seen. The white border is then pictured on the floor.

Plenty of people made snarky comments about the experience while others said it would have been very scary, with one saying: “I would have been very traumatized by this.” Another joked: “Wear it like a necklace as you exit the plane.”

“We were terrified. The steward came over and said, ‘I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we’re not going to crash, the bad news is that Mommy and Daddy owe Delta $40,000’. Very funny, but we were shook.”

Others were quick to point out it was merely a cosmetic part, although noted that wouldn’t make it any less scary in the moment.

Following the incident, a spokesperson for Delta Airlines told the Post: “Our cabin maintenance teams take these reports seriously and will take appropriate action to address.”
