Mohamed Salah ‘extra out than in’ at Liverpool as star drops contract bombshell

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has claimed he is “more out than in” with his contract set to expire next summer.

On Sunday, Salah fired Liverpool eight points clear of Manchester City. The Egyptian bagged a second half brace as Arne Slot’s side came from 2-1 down to claim a 3-2 win against Southampton at St Mary’s.

However, while spirits should be high on Merseyside following the win, Salah, who is out of contract next summer, has dropped a bombshell, stating he is “more out than in” regarding his future. Speaking to the Athletic after the Southampton win, Salah said: “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in.

He continued: “You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

The bombshell news is yet another reminder that behind the scenes, Liverpool are dealing with three separate issues, with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also out of contract at the end of the season.
