Diogo Dalot has revealed Ruben Amorim is taking no prisoners in his new role as Manchester United manager.
Amorim got off to a disappointing start following United’s 1-1 draw with struggling Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday. United made a dream start following Marcus Rashford’s opening goal inside 80 seconds, only to allow Ipswich back into the game.
In the end United were fortunate to escape with a point, having relied on some brilliant saves from Andre Onana to save them from defeat. Amorim will be given as much time as he needs to implement his footballing philosophies and ideas in his squad.

And Dalot admits it hasn’t taken the players long to appreciate just how demanding the Portuguese coach is going to be. Dalot said: “It’s gone really well (since Amorim arrived in Manchester).
“He made an impact straight away, in terms of his philosophy and the way he wants us to play. It suits the standards of the club. High intensity football and working hard for the team. We just need to put it into practice now.

“We have to give credit to him and his staff for all the information they gave us. It was really clear to us and obviously now we will take some more training sessions and games to put this into practice.
“He’s really demanding. He’s exactly what we need for this type of club. That’s the standard the club should have, by demanding people are really professional and working hard for the team. That’s the clear message that he gives us every day.”
Dalot insists United are under no illusions about what lies ahead of them in the coming months, with the fallen giants still slumped in the bottom half of the table. United face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday in Amorim’s first home game in charge.

And Amorim held a debrief meeting with his squad at the Carrington training ground on Monday, to go through what went wrong at Portman Road. Dalot added: “The message he gave to everybody was clear.
“He wants us to have more control of the games. And that’s what we want to do. We will do the recovery and speak.
“But we have to focus on Thursday. That’s what we have to do. Try to win on Thursday and then go from there.”
