Wicked followers slam Ariana Grande’s ‘distracting’ make-up malfunction within the blockbuster film

Fans flocked to box office smash Wicked over the weekend after it was released on November 22 – but some were wildly disappointed with Ariana Grande‘s glam.

Everyone has the same complaint about Ariana’s makeup malfunction in the movie musical, mercilessly mocking what appears to be a dark lash strip.

The Shameless Podcast, which is ‘for smart people who love dumb stuff,’ pointed out the issue in their review of the Wicked movie, which they released on Saturday.

Musician Eilish Gilligan said she had ‘two qualms’ with the film – the color and the ‘strip lash’ Ariana, who plays Glinda Upland, appears to be wearing throughout the movie.

‘Why is she in a strip lash that has not been cut to her eye shape?’ Eiilsh asked.

‘She’s got blonde eyebrows, she’s so fair,’ she continued, as her makeup was otherwise ethereal.

The other hosts mused that the bold lashes could be part of Ariana’s non-negotiables, as they’ve never seen the pop star with a more subtle lash.

The podcast hosts said it took them out of the film because they felt like strip lashes shouldn’t exist in The Wizard of Oz.

‘Makeup artist here!! Loved the film but the lashes were more distracting than that toddlers running up and down in the cinema aisles!’ one woman joked.

Some viewers compared the film to Bridgerton season three, which was slammed by fans who thought the show’s character’s all appeared far too modern with lash and nail extensions.

However, not everyone agreed, with some people explaining the entire movie is meant to be a fantasy.

‘So it’s a make-believe world that has a town of porcelain citizens and mice royalty but you draw the line at black uncut strip lashes? If those things exist why can’t Glinda’s lashes just be like that naturally?’ one commenter asked.
