National Lottery points pressing attraction for gamers to examine tickets for large £177m win

The National Lottery is on the hunt for a new multimillionaire and is urging Brits to check their tickets. One lucky punter has scooped an eye-watering £177million jackpot.

This mystery winner has just become the UK’s third biggest National Lottery winner ever.

The winning numbers from Tuesday’s draw were 07, 11, 25, 31, and 40 with Lucky Stars 09, 12. Allwyn Entertainment, the brains behind the National Lottery, hailed the event as “a truly incredible night”.

Andy Carter, the senior winners’ adviser at the company, was buzzing as he said: “Wow, it has been a truly incredible night for a single UK ticket-holder who has scooped tonight’s jaw-dropping £177 million EuroMillions jackpot. The win has landed them a spot on The National Lottery’s Rich List, as they have become the third biggest National Lottery winner of all time.”

As Christmas approaches, this win couldn’t be more perfectly timed, and the team is itching to hand over the hefty cheque. They’re calling on players to double-check those tickets and get in touch if they’re the lucky winner.

Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, lottery regulars are sharing their amazement – and a wee bit of jealousy – about the massive win. One user tweeted out: “Congrats to lucky winner. Wish I’d bought a ticket now,” reports the Mirror.

The National Lottery recently hit a milestone, celebrating its 30th anniversary by smashing a £50 billion fundraising target for charitable causes. Since its launch on November 19, 1994, it’s been raking in over £30 million weekly for various good causes.

Over the past three decades, the National Lottery has funded some major projects including the opening of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Eden Project and the release of This Is England. The biggest ever win was bagged by a lucky Brit who chose to stay anonymous after scooping a record-breaking EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million in July 2022 – making them wealthier than Adele, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles.

The National Lottery has also backed the production of over 600 films which have raked in a staggering 551 awards, including 16 Oscars, 128 BAFTAS and 34 Cannes awards.
