One lucky Brit won the £177million EuroMillions jackpot yesterday, becoming the third biggest Lotto winner of all time. The winner has not yet been identified, but won the enormous sum of money with the numbers 7, 11, 25, 31, 40 and the Lucky Stars 9 and 12.
The National Lottery is asking people to check their tickets to see if they can claim any prizes. Amazingly some people don’t realise they’ve won, and the lottery prizes and jackpots go completely unclaimed. If the lucky player doesn’t come forward within 180 days, about six months after the draw date, the prize and any interest goes to the National Lottery Projects.
The National Lottery celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and has supported more than 700,000 projects in its time, raising more than £50billion. Last year, the funding was shared between health, education, environmental, sport, arts and heritage causes.

The 180 day cut-off is a strict one as earlier this year a EuroMillions player lost out on becoming a millionaire after they delayed claiming their prize.
So, check your tickets against the below numbers and see if you could be a winner. The EuroMillions currently has four unclaimed prizes, worth up to a million pounds each.
One ticket was bought in Lambeth for the September 3 draw with the number MMVJ92833. Another ticket was bought in Bury for the October 4 draw with the number TXBP94278. The winners have until March 2 and April 2 respectively to claim their £1,000,000.
The Lotto HotPicks cash prize of £350,000 from September 18, 2024, remains unclaimed. The numbers are 7, 20, 33, 50, 51, 57. The ticket was bought in Birmingham and the lucky winner has until March 17, 2025, to come forward.
Set For Life is a prize where players win £10,000 a month for a set period of time. One ticket for the Set For Life prize bought in Sevenoaks is set to win £10,000 every month for 30 years if they claim their prize by April 22, 2025.
If you think you’ve won one of these prizes, call National Lottery on 0333 234 50 50, 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 5pm on Sunday. Further information on how to claim prizes is available on the National Lottery website.
