With Black Friday underway, many retailers have dramatically reduced price of their products to give shoppers a helping hand ahead of Christmas. One store launching a huge up to 80% off sale is Debenhams.
One department seeing plenty of discounts and deals is its extensive range of luxury handbags. One particular bag tumbling down in price, but not in quality, is Debenhams’ Ashwood Leather ‘Borsa della Moda’ Real Leather Saddle Crossbody Bag.
It was originally £79, but thanks to a newly added less than half price discount, shoppers can snap it up for a mere £35.19. This means customers stand to save a hefty £44.
The ‘elegant’ and ‘sophisticated’ cross body handbag is made with genuine leather and adorned with metallic gold hardware. Its ‘versatile’ design makes it a perfect accessory for both day and night outings.
It also comes with a signature tag, marking its authenticity and brand association. You could easily wear it casually with a pair of jeans and trainers, or with a cocktail dress for a night on the town.

Better still, there are as many as seven colours you can choose from – including black, tan, beige, teal, orange, blue and raspberry. As the handbag is over Debenhams’ £15 free delivery threshold, it means you won’t have to pay extra for it to be sent to your house.
Shoppers have given the handbag a score of 4.2 stars out of five. Eve said: “Beautiful little bag, just what I wanted, perfect, thank you.” Ahmad compared the “classy and elegant” handbag to a designer brand, writing: “I bought it as a gift, the recipient was really pleased. It’s a brilliant [alternative] for a Mulberry bag. Major plus point was that I bought it on sale! Would highly recommend!”
Joanny penned: “Lovely size cross over bag the colour is fab. Easy to colour match for weddings. And evening out. l would buy again in a different colour.” Beena said: “Beautiful and cute little bag, very handy, love the colour.” Jenny says: “Beautiful little cross body leather bag. Enough room for phone and keys. Sits lovely. Love the colour and really well made. Very classy.”
Some pointed out how the bag’s size meant they were just about able to stash away their valuables and would prefer it to be a tad bigger. Natalia added: “A lovely bag, slightly smaller than I expected but still managed to fit my glasses, phone and a small bits and pieces.”

Mafin put: “Delighted with this beautiful bag, I might have to buy another, just what I was trawling for months and at that price. I am small, so perfect size, fabulous quality, only thing I would change is maybe if the strap was changeable would be nice with half leather half chain to compliment the gold details.”
Sammy typed: “I really like it, gorgeous colour, but my phone just fits in. Another inch longer would be perfect.” One more shopper wrote: “Leather was good quality but the bag was smaller than the photos made it look it will only be used of an evening or on holiday not an every day bag.”
Besides Debenhams, there are plenty of other retailers selling compact cross body bags, especially if you would prefer a vegan-friendly option. Amazon has a small PU leather bag on sale for £16 that comes with a anti-theft lock.
ASOS is stocking a lock front grab top crossbody bag in black for £19.50 – down from £26. M&S also has a bag that looks very similar to Debenhams one for £35.
