Posties are the most likely workers to romp while “on the job”.
The UK’s army of around 160,000 postmen and women have “ample” time and opportunity for extra-curricular activities, a poll by married dating site Illicit Encounters found. One postie – called James – confessed he’d had two flings while on his rounds.
He said: ‘I’ve been working as a postman for three years now and I’ve met two other women while on my rounds. It adds a bit of excitement…you never know who is going to open the door.”

A spokesman for Illicit Encounters said: “Our study of 2,000 self-confessed cheats has found that some are getting lucky during the working day.
“We found that those working in the postal services were most likely to use the time to carry on an affair.”
Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert for Illicit Encounter, said: “The postal sector isn’t the most glamorous job, so it’s understandable people look for excitement elsewhere.”
Others in the top 10 include delivery drivers, trades workers, door-to-door sales folk, and even bin men.

This research follows another recent study by Illicit Encounters, which suggests men are being priced out of having affairs.
The cost of living has also made a dint on the cost of loving, as research suggests the amount cheating men are spending on their mistresses as dropped by 64%.
Skint lotharios are being forced to cut back on lavish gifts and dirty weekends away because hotels are simply too expensive. Adulterous Casanovas spent an average £6,000-a-year on their secret partners in 2019.
