Gwyneth Paltrow and her lookalike daughter stroll by way of Paris throughout buying journey… and the proof you are by no means too outdated to carry mum’s hand

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

And that certainly appeared to be the case for Gwyneth Paltrow and her lookalike daughter last week as they strolled through Paris during a shopping trip.

The A-list actress, 52, and Apple Martin, her 20-year-old daughter with Coldplay frontman Chris, 47, were almost indistinguishable as they wandered around the Place Vendome.

Both wore black double-breasted woollen coats to stave off the early winter chill, paired with dark, chunky-soled boots. Even their blonde hairstyles were matching.

Apple, who is studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in the US, also carried the latest must-have £15 tote bag from Daunt Books, which has been spotted on the arms of celebrities including Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer.

Although they looked at several shops, Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre, which has a boutique on the square, particularly drew the pair’s attention.

Even its most affordable timepieces start at £5,000, while prices for its most exclusive models can reach £2 million.

The duo, who held hands during the trip, are known to be particularly close.

In an interview last year Gwyneth, who is now married to TV producer Brad Falchuk, said Apple was an ‘amazing best friend’ who was ‘just so much fun to be with’. ‘It’s so wonderful having a daughter because you have this amazing best friend and we like to do the same stuff, and she’s so funny and she’s so smart,’ she said.

The Shakespeare In Love star also revealed Apple has a say in all the decisions involving her wellness lifestyle brand, Goop, which has sold products including coffee enemas.

‘I run everything by her,’ she has said. ‘I value her opinion so much, and she’s also such a product person.

‘My daughter has gotten so into clean, non-toxic beauty, vegan. So, she has really strong values running. It’s so nice that it aligns with the products that we already make.’
