Three useless and a number of other injured after vacationer coach smashes into cliff close to Pyrenees

Three people have died after a tourist coach smashed into a cliff in the south west of France.

The horror accident happened on Sunday afternoon close to the Pyrenees ski resort of Porté-Puymorens, near Andorra. It is being reported that eight people, including a child, are also injured.

There were 48 passengers on board the Spanish coach which ended up overturning on the RN320 road after ploughing into a cliff.

A local emergency spokesman said: “Five helicopters are involved in an operation to rescue more victims.”



Three people have died near a ski resort in the Pyrenees of southwestern France

They added that eight people were in intensive care in nearby hospitals and that one of the victims was a four-year-old child who was travelling with his parents.

The tragedy reportedly unfolded at around 5pm and the people involved were mostly Spanish or Colombian nationals.

According to BMFTV, around 100 firefighters are at the scene alongside emergency services.

François Durovray, France’s Transport Minister, said on X: “My thoughts are with the families of the victims and all those injured. I would like to commend the commitment of the emergency services, security services, and local authorities in the face of this dramatic situation. I am following the situation closely – safety on our roads remains an absolute priority.”
