Death Clock AI app tells customers once they’ll die – after which counts down

An app is telling people when they will die with a 24/7 countdown until they do.

The app, named Death Clock, is by no means a new invention. It was first created back in 2006, but the creator now says it’s far more accurate thanks to the introduction of artificial intelligence. To find their results, users must answer a series of questions that indicate their current and future state of health. Adding to this, the app also provides advice on how to extend their death stopwatch.

When signing up for a hefty £31, users will be asked to provide their name, gender and other general questions. However, the app then requires a deeper understanding and enquires on family health history, mental health past and drinking habits.

Developer Brett Franson told Bloomberg that the team used AI to trawl through 1,200 expectancy life studies to create an accurate interpretations of when someone could die. Based on a variety of information and cases, he believes he’s created a pretty good prediction.

Calling it a “pretty significant” advancement since the first release of the app, users can count down their deaths to the seconds. According to the Apple App Store, the “health and fitness” application ranks as 73 in the charts for it’s category.

Creators say the app is the first of its kind. Previously, death calculator websites – which has existed since the 2000s – used actuarial life tables. This, however, uses high technology AI databases.

The programme is not used by medical professionals, but the creator hopes the information could help ordinary people make correct life choices.
