A giant ranch dubbed ‘Little Yellowstone’ has been put up for sale for $85million after being run by the same family for nearly 130 years.
The May family is selling their ‘Antlers Ranch’ close to Meeteetse, a town south of Cody, Wyoming after running it for more than a century.
The family selling the ranch has been described as ‘sad’ and ‘the literal plot of the Yellowstone series’ on social media. ‘That’s a shame the family couldn’t keep it going,’ one social media user said.
Just like in ‘Yellowstone’, the ranch – which includes 16,000 deeded acres and controls over 40,000 – has been run by the same family for years.
Antlers Ranch is also, just like the Dutton’s family ranch, ‘part of the 22 million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem’ with Yellowstone National Park in its center.
The ranch’s lands and the about 330 types of animals living on it – like elk, moose, eagles, deer and gray wolves – resulted in it being dubbed ‘Little Yellowstone’.
Cutthroat trout and other fish are said to be swimming in the river and three creeks running through Antlers Ranch, according to the listing.
The property is listed with Latham Jenkins of Live Water Properties and was first put on the market in August.

There is enough housing for owners and staff as well as infrastructure for Antlers Ranch ‘to be a successful working ranch’, according to the listing.

The ranch also has two owner’s residences, two ranch-style homes, a duplex and a bunkhouse.
The property is described in the listing as ‘both a working ranch and a wildlife sanctuary’ offering multiple revenue streams from bison, hay, minerals, gravel and hunting and fishing.
‘We’ve had prospective buyers touring the ranch since its launch, but many wanted to wait until after the election to make a decision,’ associate broker Jenkins told FOX Business.
‘Now, post-election, we’ve noticed a significant increase in earnest interest and new leads.
‘It’s possible we could have a new owner by spring.’
Antlers Ranch is one of about 12,000 farms and ranches in Wyoming, according to a US Department of Agriculture report.

While the Yellowstone series centers around John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his children Beth (Kelly Reilly), Kayce (Luke Grimes), and adopted son Jamie (Wes Bentley), the ranch, located in Montana, could also be considered a central character.
Much of the show’s drama is driven by John Dutton’s battles to ward off threats from a range of parties looking to steal the ground from under the family.
In the show’s premiere episode, John Dutton is having a conversation with chief of the Broken Rock Reservation, Thomas Rainwater.
Thomas reveals in the conversation that the Dutton Ranch is the size of US state Rhode Island, meaning that the ranch is approximately 776,900 acres.
This is a sizeable difference to Antlers Ranch, which only controls about 40,000.
In real life, the Dutton Ranch is the Chief Joseph Ranch, located in Darby, Montana.
The actual ranch is smaller than its fictional counterpart, clocking in at 2,500 acres.
