This is the moment a car ploughed into a crowd of students after its driver sparked a mass brawl outside a nightclub.
Mohammed Alam deliberately drove at a group of friends in his Volkswagen Golf, flinging one victim into the air and left him with a deep gash to his leg that required surgery.
The incident was sparked by a large fight outside the Rock City nightclub on Talbot Street in Nottingham at around 2.45am on October 7, 2023.
CCTV footage released by police shows the moment Alam, 25, careered his vehicle over the pavement, knocking down one of the students to the ground.
Officers arrested both Alam and his older brother Parvaz, 29, after the latter was shown to have been involved in the large brawl.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how violence erupted after one reveller tapped on the roof of Alam’s Volkswagen to convey his annoyance at how fast he was driving.
Both Alam and Parvaz then left the car along with a third person, before triggering a fight on the pavement in which security guards were forced to intervene.
Alam then returned to his vehicle with his brother before attempting to mow down a group of students involved in a brawl on nearby Goldsmith Street.

While a majority of the youths managed to jump out of the way of the car, one was hit.
In a victim statement, the impaired student told the court: ‘Following my surgery, I have scars and so now I won’t wear shorts unless I absolutely have to.
‘This summer I only really wore shorts in really hot weather. Even when only holiday, I had to make sure my left leg wasn’t in too much sunlight because it’s so sensitive and I wouldn’t know it had burnt.
‘The most difficult part for me was this had an effect on my rugby. Sports are a massive part of my life and I play for the Nottingham Trent University team.
‘I missed out on games and thought because of this I might not be able to play again. It’s only down to my dedication and drive that I’ve made sure this wasn’t taken away from me.’

Alam, of Pembridge Close, Basford was jailed for two years and 10 months after admitting to affray, inflicting grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.
His brother Parvaz also pleaded guilty to affray and was handed a community order requiring him to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, and a fine of £250.
Detective Constable Madeline Flint-Foster, who led the investigation, said: ‘Mohammed Alam’s actions that night were extremely reckless and have had a profound impact on his victim.
‘It is just by pure luck that no-one was killed. His behaviour clearly shows that he is a risk to the community and I am pleased he is now behind bars.’
