WWE is just weeks away from its much-hyped moved to Netflix. For decades, WWE found its home in the UK on either Sky Sports, TNT Sports… and for a short, glorious period in 2000, on Channel 4.
But now it is making the permanent move worldwide to Netflix in a deal thought to be worth around £5billion over 10 years. Starting on January 7, Monday Night Raw will be streamed live on the the streaming platform at 1am UK time. The show will take place at the sold-out Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, with the legendary John Cena set to make his first appearance on his year-long retirement tour, CM Punk will also appear, while singer Travis Scott will unveil the new Raw theme song live on the show.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens – a self-confessed huge WWE fan – will also appear at the show, although her role hasn’t bee made public yet.

Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Bianca Belair, in addition to many other Superstars and surprise guests will also be taking part in the debut mega event.
Outside the United States, WWE will also show it’s Friday Night SmackDown show live, NXT on Tuesdays (or Wednesday 1am in the UK), and all Premium Live Events (PLEs) – or PPVs – such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.
The vast majority of WWE’s back catalogue of Raw episodes and historic PLEs will be moved there on January 1, with WWE’s own in-house network shutting down on December 31.
Speaking about the move after WWE’s latest PLE Survivor Series: War Games on Saturday night, in-ring legend Triple H – who is now WWE’s Chief Content Officer – said: “As you know, this is part of WWE’s global expansion, which we’ve been very focused on in the last year, and a lot of that has to do with our deal that we haven’t with Netflix.
“So January 6 (or January 7 in the UK) is sort of the big next evolution of WWE, heading to Netflix. At that time, 80% of the globe will hit Netflix live with Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and all our PLEs. US will be slightly different, but that includes all of Canada, so when that date hits, you’re going to get all WWE programming here. It’s a game-changer for WWE. We’re very excited about that.”
