Luke Shaw’s injury nightmare has struck again after the Manchester United crock broke down with a calf problem in training.
Shaw has spent most of the season sidelined with a damaged hamstring. And he has now been ruled out for several weeks after suffering a new muscle strain.
The news will be a blow to new United boss Ruben Amorim, who has identified Shaw as one of his key players in the 3-4-3 system he has introduced since replacing Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford hotseat.

Shaw, 29, only made his first appearance of the season 10 days ago as a substitute in United’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich at Portman Road.
But Amorim will now have to plan without him for crucial upcoming fixtures, including tonight’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates and the derby with Man City at the Etihad on December 15.
Shaw has endured a miserable 12 months which has seen him start just five United games in 2024. And the England star admitted the latest setback had left him devastated.
He said: “I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs, but this has definitely been my toughest period. I’m absolutely devastated and it’s extremely tough to come to terms with reality at this stage.
“I understand there is going to be people angry, frustrated, disappointed, and I understand all that. There is no one feeling that more than me at this moment in time.”
