Sick crowds gown up as CEO Brian Thompson’s killer in ‘murderer lookalike contest’

In a twisted turn of events, a bizarre lookalike contest took place where participants dressed up as the masked assassin who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

After Thompson’s murder in New York city, some even celebrated the CEO’s death – a reaction that UnitedHealth Group chief Andrew Witty slammed as “vitriol”, advising employees to “tune out”.

Horrific video footage captured the moment 50-year-old Thompson was shot dead by a masked figure early Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan while on his way to an investor conference.

NYPD has concluded that the attack was “targeted”, following revelations from Thompson’s estranged wife to NBC News that the deceased executive had previously received death threats, potentially linked to “lack of coverage.”

Over in NYC, the macabre UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassin competition found its winner at Washington Square Park, where a crowd donned outfits mimicking the shooter after an online flyer announced the event with a cash reward.

The winner took home $50 and even told people at the scene that he didn’t really have to try, saying “I wear this everywhere.”
