‘Trolls are jealous of my £20,000 Christmas spending – it isn’t my fault they do not save up’

A mum splashing out £20,000 on her kids this Christmas to atone for their famous grandad’s absence has told critics to stop complaining.

Alex Le Tissier used to struggle this time of year and relied on a strict budget. But she can now go over the top after finding fame following a dispute with her well-known father-in-law, former Southampton footballer Matt.

The social media star is taking her husband and four children to Disneyland Paris for the big day – and has no shame publicising it during a cost-of-living crisis.

That’s because she is proud of her changing fortunes since turning to adult modelling during the pandemic to drag her family out of debts.

Alex told the Daily Star: “I’m so happy I can finally spend a lot of money at Christmas time because we used to be very broke and everything was second-hand.

“I’ve seen so many people complaining about others spending too much money at Christmas but I’ve worked really hard and people are just jealous. I’m so proud of myself and I love that I can give my children the life they deserve.”

And dishing out advice to cash-strapped families, she added: “I think as someone who used to be broke but still made as much effort as I possibly could during hard times, I would say if Christmas triggers you that much then you need to put money away through the year.

“Because I don’t see people complaining about not giving their children gifts throughout the year or on their birthday but there seems to be a pity party at Christmas time.”

Alex is spending more money than she has ever done before this December – revealing the Disney trip was setting her back £10,000 while she was forking out another £10,000 on presents.

However, one person who won’t be receiving a gift from Alex is Southampton’s all-time top goalscorer, Matt Le Tissier.

According to his daughter-in-law, the pair fell out after he allegedly called her a “bad mum” following her career choices during the pandemic.

And she said this was the reason why she was being so extravagant this Christmas.

In part one of our interview, she explained: “I feel bad that with my in-laws not being involved in my children’s lives I have to go above and beyond with gifts so they don’t miss out.”

She added: “It makes me mad that they would rather be bitter and take it out on innocent children by not being involved in their lives.

“I think that it speaks volume on their character and it’s something that my children will have to digest when they grow up.

“It’s their loss and genuinely they [kids] are some of the greatest people that have ever graced their lives and they are missing out. So I like to go over the top at Christmas time so my children won’t ask any questions or think about them.”

Le Tissier meanwhile has refused to talk about the rift publicly.
