Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal, quashing any uncertainty over his future at Anfield.
A middle ground has been reached between Fenway Sports Group, the club’s owners, and the 32-year-old Egyptian maestro after months of intense talks. Rammy Abbas, Salah’s long-standing agent, had informed the Anfield bosses that they were seeking a three-year contract, while initially, the club was only willing to propose a one-year extension once the current agreement concludes next summer.
As the deadlock persisted, Salah made public declarations that this would be his final season with the club he joined in 2017 and has since become a beloved figure among the Kop faithful. Concerned Liverpool supporters expressed their feelings with banners such as ‘He Fires a Bow Now Give Mo His Dough’.

Salah is already Liverpool’s top earner, raking in more than £400,000 per week has never been an issue. The duration of the contract has been the bone of contention. FSG are hesitant to offer lengthy contracts to players who have crossed the age of 30, reports the Mirror.
While the deal is not yet officially done, indications seemingly point towards Salah now staying on Merseyside for the foreseeable future. Despite no signs of Salah’s influence diminishing he is currently the Premier League‘s top scorer – and having made Premier League history at Newcastle on Wednesday night by scoring and assisting in 37 separate games, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s record of 36 games, FSG have finally decided to join the Anfield party.

Unless there are any last-minute hitches, Salah is set to sign a lucrative new two-year contract, much to the delight of manager Arne Slot. The Dutchman quickly recognised he had a star player on his hands.
This move will be a disappointment for the Saudi Pro League, who were hoping to add the Egyptian international to their list of big-name players. Last summer, Liverpool turned down a £150million offer from Al-Ittihad.
By agreeing to a new contract with Liverpool, Salah has also rejected a potentially huge payday to play in the Middle East once he became a free agent. Instead, he has committed to striving for more silverware at Anfield, much to the joy of his devoted Liverpool supporters.
