A near-two minute clip shows a chaotic and messy Tesco supermarket stock room labelled a ‘disgrace’ by the user who posted the video on social media site Reddit this week
The inside of a grim-looking Tesco stock room has been revealed in a shocking video. For many, what goes on in the back of a major supermarket is a mystery rarely revealed.
But the Tesco subreddit on social media site Reddit peels back the curtain – and the truth is not what many would have hoped. A video from inside an unnamed and unidentified branch of Tesco shows a rather messy reality of one store’s disorganised and messy area – with the first moments of it showing some very old, possibly rotting items in a sink.
The one minute and 58 second video clearly shows Tesco branding around the area, including the yellow and blue Clubcard notices. It also shows a mountain of boxes of products packed high as far as the eye can see, most of which are not in any discernible order.

The clip then shows random boxes of products stacked on top of a walk-in freezer, while a shot of another walk-in freezers front door appears to show water on the floor in front of it. Another part shows a table filled with Woosh deliveries waiting to be collected, surrounded by crates of Lucozade and . . . sushi.
Throughout the video, the person filming it shows how the floor is littered with rubbish throughout, from product wrapping to general rubbish. The branch was not identified, however many in the comments warned that a store code was briefly shown in part of the video.

The clip was titled “When the day shift hands over this…(This Store is a Disgrace),” and one commentator revealed that the state of it is actually quite common.
They said: “To be honest with you, the only real problems I can see in this video are the mess in the cleaner’s cupboard, the 12 pack of monster being used to prop the door open and the cages covering the freezer door.
“Other than this, this is a standard Tesco when Christmas hits. It gets busy, they compromise on being tidy to be efficient because they simply do not have the time.”

Another wrote: “Are we playing spot the hazards here? I lost count at 20 odd. In the meantime, I know this s**** frustrating, I’ve been there too. But don’t let it wind you up too much. You can only do what you can do. Don’t break your back if others aren’t. Especially if you have proof it has been left like this.”
The Daily Star reached out to Tesco and was told that while storage areas in smaller stores can be quite “full, especially at busy times of the year” our colleagues work hard to keep all areas of our stores as clean and tidy as possible”. They also clarified that if the store was identified than they would provide feedback to the local team.
