Rumours the ‘Hawk Tuah girl’ Haliey Welch might be joining the DC Universe have finally been addressed – and it’s bad news for anyone who likes a crossover.

Yesterday (December 11) an X post claimed DC Universe CEO James Gunn was “reportedly looking to cast Haliey Welch as a ‘major character’ in an upcoming DCU project.” The announcement was linked to film critic Jeff Sneider’s account, a public figure who has often broken film stories like casting choices.

In this instance however, Sneider said he didn’t ever make the claim and was furious with being labelled as the source. “This is a lie. Never said this,” he wrote on the platform. “This account is making this s*** up. Where are the community notes NOW, Elon? Or can anyone just put words in my mouth now?”

After a rollercoaster six months, Haliey came crashing back down to earth recently after the flop of her own cryptocurrency memecoin HAWK.
