The Queen of Ally Pally Emma Paton has admitted to ‘fan watching’ as she prepares to host the PDC World Darts Championship this Sunday (December 15).

Darts fans will all be looking forward to their early Christmas gift when the World Championship hits their screens for three weeks. During the 106 hours of arrows on TV, viewers will be in for a treat as Emma Paton, the experienced presenter, will be host of the tournament on Sky Sports.

Although fans flock to the Palace to see the best of Darts, it has also become an iconic costume party. The Pope, a chicken, a lobster and a shark. This is just a normal table that you might spot during the World Championships, and they could easily be sat next to a load of Oompa-Loompa’s.

Paton has admitted to sometimes getting distracted by the fancy dress. She told The Sun: “I definitely fan watch. We’ve all seen the traffic cones, Mario and Luigi, the nuns. Nowadays it needs to be even more out there to catch my eye.

“It’s hard to be different these days. I like the inflatable dinosaur costumes. I think of that person sitting there for hours. It will be good to see if there’s any new ideas this year!”
