The December issue of Playboy Netherlands has flown off the shelves – and it’s all thanks to one ice queen.

In fact, so high is the demand, the magazine has been reprinted so fans can get their hands on the issue. Joy Beune, a speed skater who appears on the cover wearing just her gloves, could have never imagined this kind of demand.

“I expected a lot of criticism, but I only hear nice messages from everyone around me and that they think it’s incredibly cool,” she told German outlet BILD. Beune decided to go for the cover when her boyfriend, Kjeld Nuis, encouraged her into the “cool opportunity”.

Announcing the collaboration on Instagram, Playboy Netherlands said: “Finally we can tell everybody: we convinced world champion speed skating Joy Beune to pose nude for Playboy!

“The bombshell from Borne rocks our cover and twelve pages in the magazine,” also sharing the cover snap where the blonde bombshell can be seen protecting her modesty with a pair of gloves.

Beune continued: “There were moments when I compared myself to other speed skaters. They are all super slim and have incredibly toned bodies.

“Then I thought: Maybe I’m too heavy. I need to be as light as possible, that’s how I run the fastest. But that’s a load of nonsense. You have to eat well, you need that energy.”

Jutta Leerdam, the jaw-dropping girlfriend of Jake Paul, had the same theory when it came to speed. Opening up about her “extra fat” in 2022, Leerdam said it helped her to become “stronger and faster”.

The Dutch delight isn’t all looks – and she became all-around world champion for the first time this year.

Beune would also claim medals in the 5000 meters and in the team pursuit.

It’s a different kind of challenge on the horizon now, as we move within 12 months of the next Winter Olympic games – a chance for the stunner to taste immortality on the rink.
