I’m A Celeb fans have accused Dean McCullough of ‘playing the victim’ during his appearance on the Coming Out reunion show on Friday.
Awkward scenes saw the radio star, 32, confront Melvin Odoom about his Houdini comment as they met up outside of the Jungle.
It all began when Melvin, 44, branded Dean ‘Houdini’ after he continued to wander off when he needed to do camp chores.
During the main show, Melvin fumed that he was all alone to complete his task and took Dean to town on his lack of co-operation.
At the time he ranted to his campmates and said: ‘This is a lone man situation, he’s very good at disappearing.’
But Dean wasn’t prepared to let Melvin’s Houdini comment go and made sure to call him up on it during the reunion episode.

Dean began by saying: ‘I love how the whole Houdini popped off, the memes were brilliant.’
Melvin then replied: ‘I don’t think people realised why that happened, I was busy doing the water thing, I just wanted you to help so I was thinking I’m just gonna drop this line with half the camp there, make everyone laugh.’
But things quickly took a downwards turn when Dean quipped: ‘I wish you had told me, that upset me.’
If I’m trying to give someone a message, I always use humour, that’s my number one way of communicating with people, that’s essentially my weapon, and that’s all that was,’ explained Melvin.
But Dean added: ‘I saw Bush Telegraphs of you saying, ‘Oh, it’s another chore to ask Dean to do the chores’.’
Melvin said: ‘Me calling you Houdini was my way of telling you I need help, when we said, ‘Let’s do the water’, I came up the steps and you were having a shower, when I came down you were folding your clothes by the bed, by the time I said, ‘Houdini’ that was me saying, ‘I need help’.’
Frustrated, Dean said: ‘Yeah, but just take me to the side,’ as Melvin tried to diffuse the situation by saying: ‘It’s a minor bro, it’s a minor, don’t worry about it.’
Dean frostily responded: ‘Yeah, tell that to the papers’ and Melvin looked at him and says: ‘O.K. I’ll know for next time we’re in the jungle carrying buckets of water.’

Viewers rushed to X to comment on the exchange
Viewers rushed to X to comment on the exchange, quipping: ‘Dean could have slightly redeemed himself there with a simple sorry, but instead he’s made himself look even worse by act like a victim. #ImACeleb.’
‘Dean’s still pulling the ‘feel sorry for me card’ even out of the jungle! Melvin called him Houdini… it was clearly a joke! He really needs to get a grip, so so bitter! #ImACeleb #imacelebrity.’
‘Omg dean still doesn’t get it! Melvin didn’t say anything we remember, what we remember is that you are annoying and lazy we could see you did nothing! You’re nasty and vile now bringing Melvin down everyone knows he’s a good guy! You boy have no self awareness #imaceleb.’
‘That’s just embarrassing of Dean, I think the whole country cringed together at him telling poor Melvin ‘say it to the papers’ #ImACeleb.’
‘Can’t think Dean has done himself any favours there, if he’d apologised for doing nothing and had a laugh about the Houdini nickname he might’ve come off better.. instead he’s obsessing over the press #ImACeleb.’
‘Dean should be apologising to Melvin for skivving off the chores instead of trying to make out Melvin was in the wrong for calling him Houdini.Grow up Dean. #ImACeleb.’
‘God Dean is an insufferable bore. Nothing is ever his fault. He’s no idea about responsibility or team work and even though he’s out of the jungle he’s still awful #ImACeleb.’

However, it looks like the duo are ready to put their differences aside for a new project.
According to The Sun, they will be hosting the Radio 1 Breakfast show together on Monday in place of the usual host Greg James.
An insider told the publication: ‘Melvin and Dean are completely cool with each other now – so much that they’re co-hosting the Breakfast Show together on Monday when Greg James is off.
‘It’ll be a proper reunion – they’ll be telling stories from camp that weren’t featured on the show and they’ll be joined by some of their camp mates too. It’s a must-listen for I’m A Celeb fans.’
It follows Alan Halsall’s frustration at Dean for not partaking in his wood chore duty, which caused friction between the pair at the time in the jungle.
Tensioned boiled between Dean and Alan after they clashed over camp chores, with viewers admitting the BBC star was a little ‘harsh’.
The Radio 1 DJ rubbed the Corrie actor, 42, up the wrong way after neglecting his chores and taking a nap.
Explaining the truth behind their awkward row, Dean insisted the conversation ‘was really not that deep’ and ‘looked harsh on TV’.
During an Instagram Q&A, one person asked Dean: ‘Do you regret having a go at Alan? It was a bit harsh?’
Dean responded: ‘I don’t regret the situation with Alan at all, because that is life.
‘You know, if you’re upset with someone, tell them, and let them respond, hear each other out, apologise, and move on.

‘Like, it’s really, really not that deep. Alan and I got on so well. We were very very close in there.
‘It was just banter, day in, day out, so it felt quite normal for me to be like “you’ve upset me” because that’s what I would expect him to do to me.
‘And there was plenty of situations like that in there where people were honest about how they felt and we moved on. There was no drama, there was no agg.
‘It probably looks harsher on TV, but in real life it was like, it was over in a split second, and to me, that’s just life.’
After Alan stormed off to help Loose Women’s Jane Moore collect wood while Dean continued napping, Dean was quick to jump down his throat.
‘You don’t fancy it? No?’ the soap star asked, before traipsing off to help Jane himself after she confessed: ‘I can’t do it on my own’.
Dean then later joined them and told Alan ‘You can go back now’, before the actor explained: ‘I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could.’
Dean then hit back: ‘Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright?
‘It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say “Do you not fancy it, Ok?” And then turn around and walk away.’
‘I’ve listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went’ Alan replied as the pair got into a heated back and forth.
