A Premier League champion was reduced to tears in his final game for his boyhood club.
The 39-year-old made 702 appearances across 18 seasons for Sevilla, winning four Europa League titles, a UEFA Super Cup and two Copa Del Rey trophies in that time.
In 2014, he was part of Man City‘s Premier League title-winning side, winning the league in the first year of his four-season spell in Manchester.
Jesus Navas is set to hang up his boots at the end of December and could not hold back the waterworks after playing in Sevilla’s penultimate match of 2024 against Celta Vigo.
His final outing for the Spanish giants will be against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu next week.
However, Sevilla fans and Navas’ team-mates celebrated his illustrious career after the 1-0 win at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Prior to the game, Navas took to social media to express his overwhelming emotions.
‘Hard to sleep, wish time would stop,’ he wrote.
‘So many memories and emotions lived together, and amazed by so many displays of affection.
‘Happy for so much, how much I love you my Sevilla.’
The winger was given a guard of honour as he made his way onto the pitch before kick-off, as fans serenaded him around the stadium, with one stand even raising a tifo in his honour.
Navas was subbed off in the 71st minute for Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, six minutes after Manu Bueno scored Sevilla’s winner.
His four-season stint as City was a mere hiatus – outside of these years, Navas has only played for Sevilla in his career, including at the youth level.
Native to the city, he joined the club’s academy setup at 15 years old, initially featuring for Sevilla B before being promoted to the senior squad in 2003.
