Reeva Steenkamp’s sister Simone Cowburn has further spoken out about Oscar Pistorius’ new relationship.
Pistorius, who was released on bail in January, has been spotted out and about with multi-millionaire farmer’s daughter Rita Greyling, 33, and close friends have claimed they have been romantically linked for 3 months.
However, Simone has further slammed the South African’s new love. Pistorius had spent nine years behind bars for the murder of Simone’s sister Reeva – who he shot through a bathroom door after claiming he heard an intruder.
Simone initially spoke out on Pistorius’s relationship with a three word statement: “Is she nuts?” However she has now added: “I have been just looking at the photo’s of them side by side and it cannot be any coincidence he went for her.
“But what then hit me that was even spookier was as I looked at both their names and I saw that Reeva begins with an R and ends in an A and so does Rita. I just went cold when I realised that. This thing just gets creepier and creepier for me.”
Adding on the relationship from her home in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Simone said: “I am just looking at this woman’s photographs and I have goose bumps and shivers going down my spine at this moment.
“What shocks me is that she looks so much like my Reeva. She is the same build, the same face and hair, even the same eyes. Is he that sick that he wanted to find a lookalike?
“I have to ask myself that having killed Reeva did he want to replace her with another? I also have to ask myself how a woman can close her eyes at night and go to sleep with a man she knows fired four bullets that mutilate flesh into a woman he says he loved.”
Pistorius was granted parole on January 5 and South African newspaper Netwerk24 reports that he is now living in a cottage in the garden of his uncle’s mansion in Pretoria while dating Ms Greyling.
A source close to the family said told the outlet he is trying to rebuild his life.
