Secret Winter Wonderland terrace in London is the proper place for a festive date

If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a festive date night or a girls’ night out, let me tell you about my recent trip to Flight Club Victoria. Nestled in the heart of London this place isn’t just a bar, it’s an experience. I was lucky enough to snag an invite to their Christmas menu taster session held on their terrace, which had been transformed into a magical winter wonderland. It was as festive as it gets.

Walking in, I immediately felt the holiday cheer. Twinkling fairy lights, snow-dusted decorations and a roaring playlist of Christmas bangers on the speakers made it impossible not to feel merry. The terrace was where the magic – and the drama – happened. With London’s winter wind swirling around us, I almost feared for my life stepping outside. But thankfully the heaters kicked in quickly, and I started to warm up just in time for the drinks to arrive.

And oh, the drinks. Festive cocktails were the star of the show, starting with one called Sleigh My Margarita. Sweet and spicy with just the right amount of kick, it set the tone perfectly. There were others too, each more festive than the last, brimming with Christmassy flavours of cinnamon, pear and elderflower. I could’ve spent the whole night just sipping those, but my favourite was Winter Hugo Spritz.

Then the food arrived, and let me tell you, it was a proper feast. First up were the cauliflower wings – crispy on the outside, soft and flavour-packed inside, and drizzled with the most delicious tangy sauce. Then came the pigs in blankets, which were juicy, smoky and frankly gone far too quickly because my date couldn’t stop eating them.

But the showstopper in this round? The cheesy garlic bread. It wasn’t just garlic bread, this thing had cheese oozing out from the centre like some sort of festive miracle. I was obsessed.

Next, we were served a roasted veg and pesto pizza that was so massive it could’ve been a Christmas gift. The pesto balanced the roastiness of the veg perfectly, and yes, it was bigger than my head. I shared (reluctantly), knowing there was still more to come.

Cue the smash burger, stacked with all the extras – cheese, bacon and a sauce that should honestly be bottled and sold. It was indulgent in the best way.

Finally, dessert: warm brownies, gooey and rich, practically melting in my mouth. I had seconds (fine, thirds) and momentarily felt guilty about it before remembering it was Christmas, so calories didn’t count.

As I sat there, surrounded by festive decor, a glowing tree and a buzz of people having the time of their lives, I couldn’t help but feel the magic. Inside, the place was packed with work Christmas parties and groups playing darts. The energy was infectious.

Flight Club Victoria is a no-brainer for holiday celebrations. Whether it’s a date night, a birthday, or just a girls’ night filled with good food, festive vibes and a round of darts – this place has you covered. Book tickets for their Christmas events here.
