Jay Z’s lawyer denies rapper’s ‘shut affiliation’ with Diddy as he shuts down ‘demonstrably false’ rape declare

Jay Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro has insisted that the rapper ‘doesn’t know anything’ about the charges or allegations against Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs and claimed that the billionaire musicians did not share a ‘closer association’ than professional friends.

Last week, the 55-year-old rapper – real name Shawn Carter – was named in a civil lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old alongside Combs in 2000 after the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Empire State Of Mind rapper has since condemned and vehemently denied the allegations while slamming her attorney Tony Buzbee for the alleged ‘blackmail attempt.’

Speaking at Roc Nation’s New York headquarters on Monday, Carter’s attorney took efforts to make it clear that his client was not connected to sex trafficking and racketeering charges Combs is set to go on trial for.

‘Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case or Mr. Combs,’ the Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP lawyer began. ‘They knew each other professionally for a number of years, just like in all professions, people know each other.’

He continued: ‘At the Music Awards, they support each other. If you go to the NBA All Star game, they support each other. That’s just how professions work.’

Spiro added: ‘There is no closer association between any of them, that’s also a matter of fiction. That’s all that there is.

‘He doesn’t know anything about the charges or allegations against him. He has nothing to do with that case. And there’s nothing more to say.’

Spiro said during the press conference that he expected a judge to dismiss the accuser’s lawsuit against Jay-Z.

The accuser, who identifies herself as Jane Doe in legal documents reviewed by Dailymail.com, made headlines with her claim that the assault took place at a party after the award show.

According to legal docs, in the 2000 incident, ‘another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the minor.’

The 38-year-old woman, who has so far remained anonymous, then sat down with NBC News on Friday where she acknowledged several inconsistencies in the lawsuit that was initially filed a few months earlier in October.

In regard to remembering the night the alleged ‘catastrophic event’ occurred, she told the news outlet that she ‘made some mistakes.’

Some of the inconsistencies include Jane Doe claiming her father came to pick her up after the alleged rape took place. However, he has since stated that he does not remember doing so.

She also claimed to have spoke to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden – however, the band have since said that he was not in New York that night because the band was on tour in the Midwest at the time.

Attorneys for Carter have since asked for the case to be dismissed or Jane Doe’s real name to be publicly revealed in new motions filed in federal court.

Speaking to DailyMail.com and other press on Monday, Spiro claimed that the case is ‘provably demonstrably false’ and proceeded to provide evidence which he claimed proved that Jane Doe’s allegations ‘never happened’.

‘Obviously Jay-Z did not rape a child,’ he added bluntly.

Even if the case was not swiftly dismissed, he expected it to eventually ‘crumble, because it can’t possibly have happened mathematically.’

‘You don’t even need witnesses. They don’t have any witnesses because this never happened and you don’t need witnesses because the time doesn’t work,’ he explained. ‘There’s literally photographic evidence that proves that this could not have happened.’

First he highlighted the ‘large white residence with a gated U-shaped driveway’ that the Jane Doe alleged to have been driven to during a 20-minute journey away from Radio City Music Hall.

‘There is no such location,’ Spiro noted. ‘We don’t know whether they created a location in order to try to get jurisdiction in New York so they could bring this case in New York or that they just didn’t do their homework.’

He also stated that the homes owned by Combs at the time of the alleged assault did not match up with the description shared by Jane Doe.

Spiro then pointed out the fact that images of Combs and Carter from the night of the alleged assault have placed the pair at official industry afterparties – which took place at commercial venues.

The attorney also noted that Jane Doe claimed to have watched the awards show from a jumbotron outside of Radio City, however it has since been confirmed that there was no jumbotron at the show that year.

He also singled out the victim’s timeline, which he said amount to only 37 minutes spent at the after party at which she was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Spiro accused Texas attorney Anthony Buzbee of taking advantage of the accuser and stated: ‘This is not for truth and justice. This is for money.’

Spiro confirmed that he expected Carter to be ‘cleared’ and noted that Buzbee is ‘going to be dealt with’.

He explained: ‘This issue with a lawyer taking advantage of the situation is going to be dealt with, I can assure you… stay tuned. I think the first thing today was to make sure that everybody understands this is not an account of inconsistencies.

‘I wanted everybody to understand that this never happened. This is completely false. And then we’ll move forward from there.’

Opening up about how Carter was feeling following the shocking allegations, Spiro said of the rapper: ‘He’s upset. He’s upset that somebody would be allowed to do this, would make a mockery of a system like this. He’s upset that this distracts and dissuades real victims from coming forward.

‘He’s upset that his kids and his family have to deal with this. He’s upset, and he should be upset.’

Carter is father to daughter Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, seven, with wife Beyoncé.
