Michigan host Vince Villegas went viral on TikTok when he showed the aftermath of a wrecked residence in Saugatuck. He claimed the tenant caused around £2,400 ($3,000) in damages
An Airbnb property manager was left fuming after one of his properties was trashed by a renter, who then made a cheeky demand.
Michigan host Vince Villegas went viral on TikTok when he showed the aftermath of the wrecked residence in Saugatuck. In a clip that has more than 2.4million views, Villegas revealed the trail of destruction in his 700- square-foot home. And, as if the £2,400 ($3,000) damages wasn’t enough, the cheeky guests sent Villegas a £788 ($1,000) bill for their “re-decorating” services.
The news come as a British couple regret moving into a £358,000 new build, because of a “horrendous eyesore” outside.

And people have been mocking London’s new tallest building for featuring the world’s largest “toilet seat”.
In Villegas’ property the destructive renter took creative liberties by smearing red paint on the walls, light switches and bathroom mirrors in what appeared ritualistic behaviour.
Part of their “redecorating” of the 41-year-old’s digs involved rolling up several carpets, scratching a newly painted bathroom cabinet, leaving a rock inside the shower, as well as brushing a sticky substance on the bedroom floor.
To add insult to injury the fleeting tenants moved the furniture outside onto the snow-covered lawn, as well as into the garage.
It wasn’t until Villegas arrived at the rental property, which he manages for a friend, at around 10am on the slotted checkout date that he became aware of the extensive damages to the home.
“We saw all the furniture outside… vases, cups of water, a dog bed at the door, you name it. It was absolutely insane,” he told the New York Post.
As he processed the bizarre scene, Villegas didn’t hesitate to call the local police for assistance in evicting the erratic tenant, who had mysteriously disappeared.
“We ultimately called the sheriff’s department, and the sheriff came, and they were going to help us remove him from the property,” he said.
But the elusive renter didn’t show up until 3.30pm, nearly five hours after he was due to check out. Villegas said the renter “was a little combative with the sheriff at first” but eventually chose to focus on packing his belongings instead of causing further issues.
Villegas claimed the man then asked for two additional hours to vacate the property, but Villegas only granted him a half hour to gather his things and get out.
Reportedly, the troubled tenant hauled all his clothes away in bin bags before hopping on a local bus. He was also seen taking a large piece of cardboard with him, which he claimed was his own artwork.
Curious as to why the man left the property in such state, Villegas asked the renter why the furniture had been moved. “He said that he wanted to redecorate the space to make it more homely for him and that he was a well-known decorator designer from Chicago and that he wanted to make it a special space for him and for others,” claimed Villegas.
Viewers of Villegas’ tour of destruction were quick to give their take of the chaos he’d shared on TikTok. One wrote: “I kept seeing videos last week of an ‘exorcism’ in a house that looked a lot like this.”
Another said: “As soon as I saw the markings I instantly got an uneasy feeling. That’s so unnerving. Definitely have it cleansed. Maybe have some protection symbols around the house too.”
While a third added: “I can’t believe you touched anything without gloves on. What even was that on the light switch??”
