Christian Kist stuns the Ally Pally as he nails nine-darter at World Championship

Christian Kist raised the roof as he nailed a nine-darter on Wednesday evening.

The Dutchman was in fine form as Madars Razma could do nothing to stop the onslaught. Kist nailed two 180s before he went T20, T19, D20 to send the fans wild at the Alexandra Palace.

Razma could only watch on as Kist averaged over 100 to take the first set with apparent ease. “One of the cleanest nine darters ever. Every dart was perfection,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Unbelievable man pure passion,” a second said. While a third posted: “Absolute scenes from the Ally Pally!”

“How many people thought Christian Kist went back to back 9s when Sky replayed it after the break,” a fourth joked. And another added: “Went out the room and came back and thought Kist had thrown back to back nine-darters because Sky were showing a replay!”

One fan called it the best nine he has ever seen

Ahead of the tournament Paddy Power had pledged to donate £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every 180 hit as part of its BIGGER 180 campaign during the tournament as well as a £180,000 bonus for a perfect leg of darts.

That bonus is split into three: £60k to Prostate Cancer UK, £60k to the player hitting the nine, and £60k to one lucky fan in the audience.

“It is something that for me is important we raise awareness for, last year we raised a million,” reigning World Champion Luke Humphries said on the eve of the showcase.

Christian Kist bagged himself 60k

“The new incentive this year for the nine-darter where is there £180,000 being donated, £60,000 to the player, £60,000 to Prostate Cancer UK and £60,000 to a fan.

“It’s amazing, there is no limit on that so hopefully we can see an array of nine-darters, it would be amazing for everyone.”
