Eamonn Holmes has been left reeling after his GB News co-star Isabel Webster was sacked just before Christmas

The presenter, 65, has worked closely with Isabel, 41, and expected her to return to their Breakfast show in 2025.

However, in a sudden shake-up, GB News has appeared to switch up its partnership without any warning.

A TV source said Eamonn is ‘gutted’ at the news that he has already presented his last show with Isabel.

The insider told The Sun: ‘Eamonn has loved working with Isabel over the years and they’re incredibly popular with viewers as a duo. They were both fully expecting to reunite in 2025 after doing their final show of the year yesterday.

‘It was a real shock to everyone involved. Eamonn’s gutted about it and the fact that he’s been blindsided has made it even worse.

‘Isabel’s been a massive source of comfort to him during a terribly difficult year following his separation from Ruth [Langsford]. He’s still reeling from the news.’

Starting in 2025, Ellie Costello will step in to co-anchor GBN Breakfast five days a week, sharing the screen with Eamonn from Monday to Wednesday.

As word spread about Isabel leaving, Eamonn shared a snap of them together on his Instagram story.

Isabel had earlier posted a snap of the pair on the Breakfast Show, writing: ‘Final show from us for 2024.

‘Thanks for your company this year. See you soon!

‘Merry Christmas – I hope you all find some peace and joy.’

Isabel, a former BBC broadcaster, was one of GB News’s star hires from Sky News in 2021, but she is now leaving after three years.

‘Isabel was too woke and not on message’, one senior insider told MailOnline today.

Mark Dolan is out and Jacob Rees-Mogg has seen his hours halved

Presenter Mark Dolan also announced on Wednesday evening that he had been ‘relieved from his duties’.

‘Mark’s viewing figures were not good’, the same source said, but added that his Saturday night show was up against Strictly Come Dancing.

Mark has vowed to ‘speak publicly about this in due course’, but has remained silent 24 hours on.

One insider said that his flip-flopping on Brexit over the years had not helped him with bosses and some viewers.

Former Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is another GB News presenter to be hit by changes at the station.

He had been hosting his State of the Nation programme four nights a week – on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

But now he will only broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Mark and Isabel have been asked for comment by Mail Online. Jacob has also been approached.

In his first notable contact with Ruth since their separation, the presenter liked her post

Now, Ruth has returned the public display of support and liked a post of he and his co-host Isabel Webster as they wrapped up their final show of the year

The couple confirmed their 14-year marriage was over in June and are understood to be keen on ushering in a speedy divorce once Christmas and New Year are out of the way.

However, Ruth appeared to accept estranged husband Eamonn Holmes’ olive branch as she made a cryptic social media move on Wednesday.

Eamonn issued a public display of support for ex-wife Ruth, 64, as she paid an emotional visit to her unwell mother Joan in hospital earlier this week.

Ruth shared a photo from her 93-year old mother Joan’s hospital bed on Wednesday evening.

Captioning her post, she wrote: ‘Hospital visit….thank you all so much for your lovely messages and well wishes for my darling Mum.

‘She’ll be in hospital for a bit longer yet, but she’s in pretty good spirits considering and I hope she’ll be home for Christmas.’

It’s understood that Eamonn and Ruth are hoping to settle their divorce imminently – with Ruth to keep their £3.5million Surrey mansion

Following Eamonn’s olive branch to Ruth in the post about her mother, the presenter took to Instagram on Thursday to share an emotional tribute to his late mother

Joan was rushed to hospital in December after breaking her pelvis during a fall, with Ruth later confirming the news in an Instagram post on Sunday.

She wrote: ‘No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas… she’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis!

‘She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now. She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon.

‘This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well… she’s a very strong woman so I’m sure she’ll recover from this too. Puts life and what’s important into perspective eh? Happy Christmas!’

‘The aim is for Eamonn and Ruth to resolve their divorce as quickly as possible in the New Year,’ a source told The Sun.

Eamonn has already moved on with dating counsellor Katie Alexander, at 43 some 22-years the veteran presenter’s junior

Eamonn and Ruth split after 27-years together (pictured 2009) and they are parents to son Jack, 22

‘Ruth is keen to stay in their marital home as it is where she is settled, Eamonn on the other hand wants to get out and make a fresh start. They aren’t dragging their heels and want this settled and done as quickly as possible.’

Eamonn recently sparked speculation that he is engaged to Alexander after she was spotted wearing a large ring on her engagement finger during a romantic getaway to Paris last week.

‘Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her,’ a source told The Sun.

‘They’re already living together and he knows it feels right. They have a very strong connection and get on very well. She has given him a real lust for life and she looks after him.’

In pictures obtained by the publication, the couple headed to the Louvre, with Alexander wearing a gold diamond ring on her engagement finger.

The counsellor was not pictured wearing the band at a Christmas carol concert in West London on December 5.

It was reported last month that Langsford has hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer amid the bitter split.

As reported by The Sun, Catherine Costley has been called up by Loose Women host Ruth who seeks to end her 14-year marriage to Holmes with a financial settlement.

Costley is known for her fierce approach to divorce settlements and has said all women should have a ‘go bag’ fund when exiting a relationship, according to The Sun.

The divorce lawyer was once an apprentice of ‘Steel Magnolia’ Baroness Fiona Shackleton, Britain’s highest-profile divorce lawyer who famously represented Charles in his split from Diana in 1996.

Baroness Shackleton has also worked with A-list stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher and Madonna.

She was once doused with water in court by a furious Heather Mills while representing the Beatles legend during the couple’s divorce in 2008.
