Victor Lindelof was forced off in the clash

Ruben Amorim was dealt another injury during Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.

Victor Lindelof stormed straight down the tunnel at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he picked up a knock in the first half of the cup clash. The Swedish defender was visibly upset as he was checked up by medical staff on the pitch.

He took off his shirt and headed straight down the tunnel as Amorim was forced to replace him with veteran Johnny Evans. It was an evening to remember in North London, as United almost mounted one of the all-time great comebacks.

Dominic Solanke had handed Spurs the lead in the opening minutes, when he was first to loose ball in the area. Dejan Kulusevski would net Spurs’ second before Solanke bagged his brace.

Spurs looked like they were cruising into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, but that all changed in a whirlwind seven minutes. Fraser Forster committed two howlers that let United back into the game.

Son Heung-min thought he had regained some control on the game when he scored directly from a corner, but United had one last surprise as Evans gave Spurs one last scare.

“Lindelof one of the most useless footballers I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t do anything and can’t stay fit either,” one fan fumed. While a second said: “Lindelof injured again. Another one made of glass..”

“I genuinely forgot how bad Lindelof was,” a third posted. And another added: “Not nice to see players upset like that due to injury. Hope Lindelof’s injury isn’t too bad!”
