A police watchdog probe is underway after two teenagers died following a car crash in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said the two boys, aged 17 and 16, were in the vehicle which failed to stop for police before hitting a tree just after 2am on Thursday.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in the inner-city area of Grove Lane, Handsworth.
Officers said ‘nothing could be done to save him’.
Three other teenagers who were also in the car and were taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life threating, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has begun an investigation into the incident.
Police have asked anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to contact them via 101 or Live Chat quoting log number 183 of December 19.
