‘Bigfoot’ dragged into US drone theories as WW3 fears and conspiracies swirl

New Jersey senator Jon Bramnick compared the mysterious drones spotted in the United States to ‘Bigfoot’ in a statement where he blasted federal government for not taking them seriously

US lawmakers have dragged Bigfoot into the New Jersey drone situation, as conspiracy theories spiral out of control.

The Federal Aviation Association (FAA) has looked to ban drones in an attempt to unravel the mystery of the US drones, which have been sighted flying up and down the country. Since mid-November, more than 1,000 drones have been reported in the sky, including near military and presidential sites.

Republican New Jersey senator Jon Bramnick has urged the Department of Defence to take the drones seriously in a fiery statement. The lawmaker blasted federal government for not being supportive after he watched videos of “large drone sightings” snapped by members of the public.

“The White House is saying, ‘We are not seeing what we are seeing,'” he said. “Let’s be clear, this is not similar to ‘Big Foot’ sightings, these are clear images. We need the Defense Department to investigate.”

With the distinct lack of confirmed answers about who or what might be behind the unknown flying objects, conspiracy theories have sprung from all angles.

Congressman Chris Smith earlier this week pointed fingers at a “major military power”. Smith named Russia, China, Iran and North Korea as potential culprits for dispatching the unmanned vehicles over American territory, despite the foreign adversary nations all dismissing their involvement.

Smith said: “The elusive manoeuvring of these drones suggests a major military power sophistication that begs the question whether they have been deployed to test our defense capabilities – or worse – by violent dictatorships, perhaps maybe Russia, or China, or Iran, or North Korea.”

The representative for New Jersey’s 4th district suggested the drones could be safely neutralised over the sea or in uninhabited terrestrial regions, questioning: “Why can’t we bag at least one of these drones and get to the bottom of it?”
