They are in different fights tonight but one day Moses Itauma can see himself in the same ring at the same time as Johnny Fisher.
But only because the Romford Bull’s popularity makes the clash a worthwhile exercise for the confident, young heavyweight.
Itauma, 19, takes the next step up the ladder when he faces Aussie puncher Demsey McKean on the undercard of Okeksandr Usyk’s rematch with Tyson Fury in Riyadh tonight.
The Slovakian-born Brit is one of – if not THE – hottest heavyweight prospect in world boxing with 10 wins and eight KOs in just under two years of professional action.
Itauma is a hot favourite to dispatch of McKean and then the question will be what’s next for this exciting talent?
History graduate Fisher, 25, faces faded heavyweight Dave Allen on the same card.
The Romford native is unbeaten in 12 bouts and is backed by a large following as well as a social-media famous father in John, who has become known for his Chinese-eating habits.
“Johnny Fisher could happen, not because of his skill but because of his backing,” said Itauma. “When you have backing you can leap boundaries in boxing. Fisher has a good following and that’s why the fight could happen.
“Take away Johnny’s ticket sales and following and his dad, would he be boxing in Saudi right now?
“And would he have had this career? No Eddie [Hearn] would have thrown him in against someone else.
“I would do the same in their position.
“But I am just not bothered about that fight, because it is just not on my radar.”
The stage is big for Itauma tonight at the Kingdom Arena, but don’t expect him to be anxious ahead of facing McKean, whose only defeat in 23 fights came against world title challenger Filip Hrgovic in 2023.

“If I was to box [Daniel] Dubois, [Anthony] Joshua, Fury, Usyk then I probably would feel fear or nerves but – and I don’t to disrespect my opponent or seem big headed – but I don’t think that’s necessary for Demsey,” said Itauma.
“When that big fight comes I would like to feel a few more nerves, 100 per cent.
“But I can’t help the way I feel.”
