Marcus Rashford has reportedly left his Manchester United teammates in a state of frustration after expressing his desire to exit the club.

Despite being an academy graduate, Rashford was notably absent from Ruben Amorim’s squad selections for the last three matches. There had been rumours that the Red Devils wouldn’t stand in the way of the 27-year-old’s departure, potentially even before the January transfer window.

Now, it seems Rashford is set on leaving, although his hefty £350,000-per-week contract, which doesn’t expire until 2028, could be a stumbling block.

Rashford made his feelings clear, stating: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” and added, “When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.”

However, Rashford’s candid admission hasn’t been well-received by all within the United camp, with The Sun reporting that some squad members are less than pleased, finding his timing particularly distracting after their significant win against Pep Guardiola’s team, reports the Mirror.

Despite the signs pointing towards Rashford’s departure from Old Trafford, Amorim has continued to show support for him. Even though he has excluded Rashford from recent games, the ex-Sporting CP manager has hinted at his preference for Rashford to remain part of the team.

Amorim commented: “This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.

“We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. And that’s all.”

Rumour mills have been busy linking Rashford to several teams including Barcelona as a loan option. However, it’s the Saudi Arabian contingent, particularly Al-Ahli, showing keen interest.
