Manchester United star Joshua Zirkzee’s miserable season at Old Trafford has gone from bad to worse after it was confirmed he had split up with his model girlfriend Celina Jada Kerr
Joshua Zirkzee’s miserable season at Manchester United has gone from bad to worse after it was reported he has split from his long-term partner Celina Jada Kerr.
Signed by Manchester United from Bologna for £36.5million this past summer, the Dutch forward got off to a flying start, scoring on his debut at Old Trafford in their opening day win over Fulham. However, the 23-year-old has struggled to find his form for United this season, scoring just four goals in 25 games, with the Red Devils stuck in 13th in the Premier League table.
It was later claimed that since sacked manager and compatriot Erik ten Hag didn’t want Zirkzee at United and fumed about him being overweight when he arrived in Manchester a stone heavier than expected.
And now it has been reported Zirkzee and his long-term girlfriend Kerr have split up. GSM report the pair, who “were known to be longtime sweethearts” have unfollowed each other on social media.
It’s said that photos of the two have also been deleted from Celina’s Instagram account. The pair had been together dating back to Zirkzee’s Bayern Munich days, who he joined when he was just 16.
German model and influencer Kerr graduated in Berlin with a Media and Communications Management degree. While the two generally kept their private lives off social media, they did appear in a JD Sports shoot, which Kerr displayed on her Instagram feed.
However, the pair have now unfollowed each other on the platform. Kerr, who has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, still follows Zirkzee’s father, Remco.
With Marcus Rashford likely headed out the door, potentially in the upcoming January transfer window, the Dutch international looks set to battle it out with Rasmus Hojlund for a starting berth in Ruben Amorin’s first choice XI.
However, right now, it looks as though the Dane is Amorim’s first choice over Zirkzee, who has managed just three goals in the Premier League this season in 17 appearances.
He was handed a start by Amorim against Bournemouth recently, but failed to have much of an impact in their 3-0 defeat to the Cherries, with Hojlund replacing him on 54 minutes.
