Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez took their family to the frozen north for some winter magic as they spent the festive period in Lapland, Finland
It’s doesn’t snow all that often in Saudi Arabia – in fact, it was only this year it experienced it for the first time.
And while the baking heat of the winter sun in the Middle East is appealing to some, you can’t quite beat snow at Christmas. And that’s why Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez jetted off to the frozen north for the festive period.
“Merry Christmas, everyone,” Ronaldo wished his 645million followers on Instagram as he posed topless in front of the winter wonderland. He also uploaded a second snap as the Ronaldo family sat around a table ready for a Christmas dinner.
Cristiano Jr, 14, Alana Martina, eight, Eva Maria, seven, Mateo, seven and Bella, two, also appeared in pictures shared by his stunning WAG Georgina Rodriguez.
Georgina gave fans a bit more of an insight into the holiday – sharing snaps on her Instagram page. The stunner showed off her curves in an all-black outfit combined with a black headband and gilet.
“What a beautiful place! Enjoy it with family,” one fan responded in the comments section. While a second said: “Merry Christmas to each and every one.”
“This family is insanely adorable,” a third posted. While a four said: “Beautiful! Merry Christmas to all of you!”
And another added: “Gio you’re looking beautiful as always!”
The activity packed holiday featured cross-country skiing, riding on snowmobiles and Ronaldo even took a ice cold plunge in the sub zero temperatures.
Ronaldo is currently away on his winter break – and he’s set to return to action on January 9 when Al-Nassr host Al Arkhoud in the Saudi Pro League. The megastar, 39, is hoping to reach 1,000 goals before he retires.
“I now face my life living in the moment. I can’t think long term anymore,” he said. “I can no longer think about what I said publicly that I wanted to reach 1,000 goals.
“But it seems that everything is easy now, just last month I reached 900. It’s about living in the moment, enjoying the moment, seeing the response that my legs will give me in the next few years. One thousand goals is great, but if it doesn’t come, I’m already the player in history with the most goals.”
