The trio of piggy panto stars donned yuletide outfits for the fun photos, which staff hope will help to show that pigs are so much more than the traditional Christmas sausage and bacon side dish
Move over pigs in blankets, it’s all about the panto pigs this Yuletide!
Kew Little Pigs farm in Old Amersham, Bucks, has put on a festive photo shoot that’s nothing short of magical for their cherished porcine pals, who are set to enjoy long and contented lives at the sanctuary. The piggy trio taking centre stage are Astrid, George, and Juniper, who got all dressed up in Christmas gear, much to the delight of their human friends.
Becks Wolf and Rachel Allen were the creative forces behind the scenes, while farm worker Josh Montoro Bailes captured the heartwarming moments on camera, ready to spread some serious festive joy.
In one particularly cute snap, 22-year-old Rachel is seen tucking George into a fluffy blanket, with the amiable swine sporting a mop cap reminiscent of Widow Twanky from the pantos.
Another picture features George looking every bit the garden gnome with a beard and hat, while his sisters sport reindeer antlers and an elf cap.
Olivia Mikhail, the proud owner of Kew Little Pigs, gushed: “Our pigs love to pose and we knew this trio would love taking part in the fun photos which are designed to show just how pigs are so much more than part of someone’s Christmas dinner.”
She added, “We hope that by seeing our fun pictures people will think a bit differently about pigs, and maybe even consider one as a pet in the new year.”
Kew Little Pigs, renowned as the top breeder of micro pigs in Britain, ensures all of its adorable critters either remain at their prize-winning farm or become cherished household pets. The farm is also celebrated for initiating the praised Pigs For Schools Scheme, bringing hands-on animal learning experiences to over 100,000 kids, either by establishing an on-site pig club or arranging visits to classrooms or to the farm itself.
Olivia added: “We are passionate about education, these animals are as intelligent as a dog, and every bit as loving and enthusiastic about life.”
