Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling are set for an emotional reunion on Amazon Prime‘s Premier League coverage on Boxing Day – and commentator Jon Champion has a poem for the occasion.

The much-loved football punditry and presenting duo are returning to TV screens with ‘Kammy’, 67, who has been battling speech apraxia, working as a reporter for Nottingham Forest’s game against Tottenham at 3pm.

That means he will link up for one final time with his long-term on-screen partner, Stelling, 69, who will host the Every Game, Ever Goal show, which allows fans to see all of the goals and talking points from each game, live as it happens.

Meanwhile, commentary legend Jon Champion, who will be on duty at Anfield when league leaders Liverpool host Leicester City, has narrated a new poem previewing Prime’s eight Boxing Day matches across 10 hours of coverage, which can be watched at no additional cost.

Prime Video has rewritten the classic festive poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas‘ with Champion reminding that “across the UK, all fans are restless for a big Boxing Day” and celebrating the fixtures that can make or break the Christmas spirit for football fans up and down the country.

Champion’s words are brought to life with historical footage from Prime’s previous five years of festive Premier League coverage, evoking The Goals of Christmas Past and setting the scene for what promises to be an action-packed Boxing Day.

The poem reads: “Twas’ the night before football, across the UK, when all fans are restless for a big Boxing Day,

“Whether stadium or sofa, one thing is clear, this game has the power to decide Christmas Cheer,

“Eight matches in total from morning to night, only you can decide how much football feels right,

“Grab the TV remote, laptop and phone, call family and friends and get comfy at home,

“We start at Man City – a must-win affair, before five festive matches will take to the air,

Chelsea, Fulham, Saints & West Ham, Bournemouth, Palace, Forest, Tottenham,

“Eddie Howe’s Toon face Emery’s Villa, Join Stelling and team for a 3pm thriller,

“Man United face Wolves as dusk starts to fall, Amorim’s boys must give it their all,

“Night now approaches, we’re close to our beds, Three more points? One step closer for Arne Slot’s reds?

“Lots of questions to answer, hopes, dreams and fears, cheers to erupt and who knows, maybe tears,

“We invite you to join us for one final time, to enjoy Boxing Day football on Amazon Prime.”

This season is Prime’s final year of Premier League coverage in the UK, and includes two additional fixtures following Boxing Day as Brighton take on Brentford and Arsenal face off against Ipswich, both on December 27.

But the football action on Prime does not end with the Premier League. From this season, the biggest UEFA Champions League fixture every Tuesday is broadcast exclusively on Prime.
