Alisha Lehmann has many admirers in and outside of football, but one of her fans with a celebrity status took their admiration for her to a completely inappropriate level
Alisha Lehmann once claimed an “internationally famous” celebrity offered close to £100,000 for a one-night stand with her.
The 25-year-old Juventus Women star initially turned out for FA Women’s Super League giants Aston Villa. While she was dazzling on the field with her football skills, Lehmann was also becoming a household name off the pitch.
She has 16.8million followers on Instagram, having also balanced work as a model and an influencer alongside her football career. However, one admirer, who was believed to be a famous celebrity, was so smitten with her, they wanted to offer close to six figures for one night of romance.
While speaking to German podcaster and influencer Shirin David, she opened up about the slimy direct message. She revealed: “[It said] ‘I’ll pay Alisha 100,000 Swiss Francs (£90,121) for a night with her’.
“Of course, I didn’t answer, it was crazy. The message was from someone very well known. We’ve met before, but not in person. We were at the same event.”
The podcast host was itching to uncover the identity of the celeb, only for her to reply: “I can’t reveal that. But he is very, very well known internationally.”
Lehmann’s online audience dwarfs that of the vast majority of players around the world. That’s also including her famous partner Douglas Luiz, who moved to Juventus from Aston Villa in a deal worth £42.4m.
However, her footballing salary is only a fraction of what Luiz earned at Villa. When they were both at Villa, Luiz was understood to be on around £75,000 per week, while Lehmann was earning between £160,000 – £200,000 per year.
She regularly used her platform to criticise the huge pay disparity between male and female players. While speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, she said: “Everyone would like to have the same salary.
“I often speak to Douglas at home about this and tell him it’s not fair. We do the same job, but he gets paid a hundred times more than me.
“It’s something that affects me because I’m a woman. Obviously, there’s still a long way to go on the path we’re on because there may never be equal pay.
“There will have to be a very strong will to make a change in this direction.”
