January is just a stone’s throw away, and despite the remnants of festive food still lurking in fridges and cupboards nationwide, many are itching to start fresh.

Brits are hoovering up pine needles and hitting up Google for ‘healthy recipes,’ swearing off those leftover sandwiches for yet another year – classic signs that they’re all set to welcome the new year with open arms.

A whopping 72 per cent of Brits hit a point during the Christmas period where they’re gagging to get back to their healthy habits, with 34 per cent vowing to dive back in on January 2, reveals a Hello Fresh poll from across the nation. Topping the charts, 38 per cent of Brits confess to giving their homes a good tidy.

A quarter of the population meanwhile, are already eager to ditch their Christmas trees, while a similar number are totally over the leftover butties. Peering into the new year, 22 per cent have bought a planner for 2025, and one in five are ready to hit the gym and sculpt their bods.

Clinical Psychologist Dr Martha Deiros Collado said that keeping your post-holiday life in check doesn’t just magically happen – you’ve got to play your part and craft a “game plan”. Dr Martha advises: “This takes a little preparation but once you are set, it can build some healthy habits that you can continue throughout the year.”
