Nigel Farage has issued a New Year greeting from Blenheim Palace for some reason.
Presumably speaking from a rentable room, the Reform UK leader gives a self aggrandising speech to camera, listing all of his personal achievements in 2024.
But eagle-eyed viewers might notice a telling secret message in the background of the clip.
On a fine mahogany writing desk in the grand aristocratic palace, from where the self-invented man of the people chose to address his supporters, a photograph has been placed just to Farage’s left.
It’s out of focus, so you might not recognise it at first.
We’ll give you some clues. It’s not Winston Churchill, whom Farage bangs on about at length in the speech.
Neither is it King Charles, with whom you might think such a patriot as Nigel would be eager to align himself.
So who is the one person Nigel Farage admires and identifies with so much that he chose to share a frame with in his New Year address?

That’s right – Melania’s canary yellow dress is a dead giveaway. The photo – and presumably the choice of venue – are both tributes to Donald Trump.
Blenheim Palace was the venue for the US President-elect arrival in the UK in 2018, when then-PM Theresa May rolled out the red carpet for him.
Mr Farage wasn’t invited to the event.
But he did sneak in a face-to-face meeting with the then-President at the US ambassador’s residence during his official state visit the following June.
Farage has frequently been criticised for spending time in the US campaigning for President Trump instead of in his constituency.
