Wetherspoons to open second pub at much-loved UK vacation park in time for summer time

The pub chain has already opened one venue at a site and now plans have been put in for a second one, after it closed an exclusive deal with the holiday camp firm

Great news for cheap-pint-lovers

JD Wetherspoon is set to make waves in North Wales by potentially bringing its popular pub brand to a holiday park. The chain, which already boasts a strong presence with several establishments across the region, could see its reach extend further thanks to a proposal from Haven, the holiday park behemoth.

Last year, Haven revealed it had clinched an exclusive deal with JD Wetherspoon to operate within its parks, making it the first UK holiday park operator to forge such a partnership with the renowned pub company that runs over 830 watering holes across the UK and Ireland. The inaugural Wetherspoon’s pub launched at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in North Yorkshire last March, and now eyes are set on a new site in Prestatyn’s Presthaven holiday park.

Plans suggest an extension to the main building’s Mash and Barrel bar area, transforming it into The Boathouse pub, complete with the Wetherspoon’s touch. A planning statement from Harrison Ince Architects outlines the vision: “The proposed extension at Presthaven Beach Resort aims to enhance the overall guest experience while seamlessly integrating with the existing resort infrastructure. By prioritising high quality materials, sustainable design practices, and compliance with relevant regulations, the extension will provide modern amenities that cater to the diverse needs of our visitors.”

The firm behind the proposal said: “This development not only supports the resort’s growth but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and accessibility, ensuring that Presthaven Beach Resort remains a premier destination for leisure and relaxation. We believe this extension will contribute significantly to the local economy and community, fostering an inviting atmosphere that attracts both new and returning guests”, reports North Wales Live.
