Liverpool are braced to reject Real Madrid‘s pending £20million offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Madrid have already made an approach for the right-back, despite not submitting a formal bid, but the Reds swiftly rebuffed their advance

Mail Sport has reported how the Spaniards are confident they can tempt the 26-year-old to join them, with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

They could have the England international for free in the summer but Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to secure a deal this month after a season-ending injury to regular right-back Dani Carvajal.

Liverpool sources insist that Alexander-Arnold, who joined Liverpool aged six, has given no indication that he wants to leave the club.

But Arne Slot‘s side will be keen to tie down his future sooner rather than later – alongside those of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – rather than risk losing one of the Premier League‘s supreme talents for nothing.

They are reluctant to loan out Federico Chiesa despite his injury seeing him have a slow start

Meanwhile, Liverpool are reluctant to loan out Federico Chiesa amid interest from Italian clubs.

Slot wants to keep six attackers for his squad going forward and Chiesa has been building up match fitness in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old only joined Liverpool over the summer but was ruled out injured for two-and-a-half months and has been limited to four appearances.

Chiesa played a starring role in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph but injuries have complicated the last few years of his career.

All the same, he managed to score 10 goals for Juventus last season and there is hope that he can become a regular contributor going forward for Liverpool, whose strength in forward depth has become a real asset.
