Police are hunting a mystery woman who was caught on camera deliberately scratching 11 vehicles.
The vandal can be seen walking along North Lodge Terrace in Darlington, County Durham, clutching a sharp object.
She struck just before New Year, between 10pm on December 29 and 11am on December 30.
The woman left scratches across multiple panels of the vehicles causing thousands of pounds worth of carnage.
Resident Kamran, who will have to pay hundreds to fix his car which was damaged across four panels, said: ‘It has ruined my 2025 within minutes.
‘I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I feel sorry for the others too as one has just bought a brand new car a week ago and now its scratched.
‘It was a new years gift to everyone I believe. It is the second time it has happened to me in nine months.’

In total, 11 vehicles have been criminally damaged and the residents expect to have to pay thousands of pounds in damages.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: ‘Police are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage which took place in North Lodge Terrace, Darlington.
‘Officers have received reports of 11 vehicles being damaged by being scratched with a sharp implement. The vehicles were damaged at some point between 10pm on December 29 and 11am on December 30.
‘Investigations are continuing, including examining CCTV from the area. Anyone with information is asked to ring Durham Constabulary on 101, referencing incident 116 of December 30.’
