Manchester United fans have all demanded Amad Diallo sign a new contract after he fired level against Liverpool.

The Red Devils had put in on one of their performances of the season as they held Arne Slot’s side at half-time. However, it was in the second half that the game would explode into life as Lisandro Martinez slammed the ball past a hapless Alisson.

Cody Gakpo and a Mohamed Salah penalty helped the Reds to restore some sort of order, but Ruben Amorim’s superstar Amad was on hand to roll the Red Devils level. “Amad needs to sign the contract,” one fan posted on social media.

“Amad is the face of this club, give him the contract he wants,” a second said. While a third posted: “Amad I love you! Please sign a lifetime contract we’ll give you all of Casemiro’s wages…”

“Amad. Give him a 10 years contract and 350 a week,” a fourth gushed. And another added: “Amad sign that contract tonight!”

Amad’s current deal is set to expire on June 30, 2025, although United have the option to extend it by an extra 12 months.

An earlier report from Daily Star Sport suggests Amorim is keen for Diallo to be handed a new long-term deal. Amorim has been impressed with Diallo’s performances since taking charge, and how he has adapted to the new system being introduced.

The Portuguese coach sees Diallo as one of the players who can have a successful future under him at Old Trafford. Talks between Diallo’s representatives and club bosses have been on-going for several weeks and have progressed.

Diallo’s strike on Sunday (January 5) was his sixth of the season – having also turned derby day hero against Manchester City last month.
