Dani Olmo has been included in Barcelona‘s Super Cup squad despite a registration issue that currently makes him ineligible to play.

Similarly, Pau Victor has also been named in the traveling party to Saudi Arabia, despite facing the same paperwork dilemma as Olmo.

Both players were forced to sit out Barcelona’s Copa del Rey victory over Barbastro due to missing the required documentation to feature for Hansi Flick’s team.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club is optimistic about receiving approval for the registration of Olmo and Victor this week.

If the Higher Council of Sports (CSD), acts swiftly, both players could potentially be added to the Barcelona matchday squad.

However, much depends on the timing of the decision. While Barcelona is not taking a positive ruling for granted, they remain hopeful of a favourable outcome.

Dani Olmo’s (pictured above) availability for international duty in 2025 is in doubt due to an ongoing issue with his registration status at Barcelona

If the CSD rejects the club’s appeal, both Olmo and Victor would be unable to participate in the Spanish Super Cup.

In that case, Barcelona’s next step would be to approach ordinary courts for a resolution—an option the club is keen to avoid.

Olmo joined the Catalan giants in the summer for £50million from RB Leipzig and quickly established himself as a pivotal player under Hansi Flick.

However, as a result of the club’s well-publicised financial difficulties, upon arrival Olmo was forced to sit out for the first two weeks due to registration issues.

Barcelona were finally able to register the Spain international following Andreas Christensen’s injury. However, this move was only temporary.

The registration was set to expire on December 31, forcing the club to re-register Olmo. Although, attempts to re-register him were unsuccessful.

Therefore, as it stand, the 26-year-old will not be able to play for the club and cannot leave on loan due to Barcelona not having his registration.
